It is definitely one of the best places to take in the scenic beauty the country has to offer.

One day trip to the Ourika Valley

Our team was thrilled when our recent guests asked us if we could share their experience traveling with Morocco in Focus.

So here it begins:

After our delicious and well renown Moroccan breakfast at the accommodations in Marrakech (one of the authentic Riads), we began the pleasant ride to the Ourika valley. The picturesque view, lush greenery, the cool breeze, hardly made the one hour ride seem long. Our first stop was the infamous village of Setti Fatma. Though a tourist hub, the energy and the hustle only adds to its charm. (Yet, just FYI, it never gets crowded.) The village was beautiful and welcomed us with so much warmth, it seems impossible to not fall in love with it. This was the ideal place to “shop till you drop” as you find the best of artifacts here that serve as perfect souvenirs. The place housed restaurants that served scrumptious food. After making most of our time there, we headed towards the most exciting part of the journey -The Seven Falls!

Albeit, the hike was a little challenging, but the view and the serenity that it had to offer was worth all the efforts. After we spent quite some time there, taking in the beauty of the place, we headed to the Berber village (which we had not actually planned before hand) after being suggested to do so by the our guide. It was a wonderful experience to meet a real berber family. We even enjoyed a tea ceremony we got invited to. It was a great insight on how they live their daily lives.

The One day trip to the Valley would be certainly the best escape from the summers’ heat, or any time of the year for that matter, as the beauty is mesmerizing regardless of the season.

We encourage you to visit this place at least once. It is definitely one of the most pleasant day trips one can take!
